Community Wellness Walks are back for 2010, and this year you can form a team to compete for the Stinky Shoe Award! Join us on the Levee Riverwalk at Riverside Park every Wednesday through the summer, June 2 - August 25 to stink up your shoes! There will also be a few special guided walks with a historical flair. Find more info under the Wellness Walks tab. Portage Mayor Ken Jahn will present the Stinky Shoe Award at the Taste of Portage on August 28.

The 100 Year Lifestyle Club is in full force! If you are looking for motivation to get in shape, stay in shape, want extra health info or just want a healthy lifestyle group, this will be the fun club for you! Check out the 100 Year Lifestyle Club tab above to learn more.

Club Members are Ducky! 100 Year Lifestyle Club Members who participated in our recent Warm Up Challenge are invited to join us for a celebration of your success at the Madison Mallards home baseball game, Friday June 11 at 7:05pm. Tuesday, April 27th: Master Herbalist Jackie Dykstra will teach us about herbs and foods you have in your kitchen already that can help keep you healthy! March 23, 2010: Gardening for Health! Join Carol from Edgewater Greenhouse as she shares how to plan a healthy, organic garden and prep for spring! Dr. Brian will provide a brief introduction on the health benefits of gardening. Don't miss our spring newsletter with some gardening thoughts too! February 18, 2010: 100 Year Lifestyle Speaker Series: Cooking for your SweetHEART! Join professional chef CJ Frost and our Doctors to learn which foods to enjoy and avoid to keep your heart ticking healthily, and learn how to make it tastier than ever! Chef CJ will cook for us and entertain us all at the same time, and give us tasty samples to test out. It all starts at 5:30pm, right here in our office. January 9, 2010: 8th Annual Healthy Living Fair at the Portage High School. For registration info, click here. Here is the event flyer. September 18: Founder's Day - The first chiropractic adjustment was made this day, in 1895.

September 19: Kids Day America

Our 12th annual Kids Day event was held Saturday, September 19th at the Portage Culvers from 10am until 1pm. More than 450 children and their families joined us for FREE family fun! Children received a free ID kit. Also, kids enjoyed free spinal, eye and dental screenings, touring a fire truck, police car, school bus, ambulance and more! This year, Wisconsin's own 2009 Alice in Dairyland and Smokey Bear were on hand for photos and educating too.

Community Wellness Walks

The wellness walks were a great success! Walkers logged a total of 1,062.25 miles over the summer. Congratulations to all who added to the miles, and Thank You to all the sponsors who helped make the event run smoothly every week!
